England's Head Coach Insists Top Talents Do Not Necessarily Make Up the Strongest Squad

Other absentees included Chelsea's Cole Palmer, who remains affected by fitness issues. Given just two additional gatherings prior to the tournament, opportunities are diminishing for certain individuals to prove themselves.

"I understand supporters won't be happy but for us it's preferable with later kickoffs," he stated. "Our athletes are the game and we have to protect them."
